New Moon strives to fund community-led inititaives that advance the rights and welfare of people in the sex trade. We invite US-based organizations (or fiscally sponsored projects) to apply for a microgrant of $1,000. New Moon will distribute up to five $1,000 grants each month until January 2026.

New Moon Fund is changing how we fund the movement. Our strategy has shifted to prioritizing groups we have existing relationships with. We will award microgrants as an open call until the end of 2025.

Going forward, we encourage nonprofits and fiscally sponsored projects to send us an LOI (letter of inquiry) to introduce their work. In many cases, we can help organizations secure funding and become broadly appealing to funders.

Through January 2026, New Moon distributes five $1,000 microgrants to community-led initiatives advancing the rights and welfare of people in the sex trade. We work with a team of community advisors to decide on funding allocations each month.

Please note: this is not ongoing monthly funding; this is a one-time grant. New Moon may, at its discretion, decide to fund a single organization up to twice per year, depending on funding availability and need. Organizations may receive this award twice per calendar year only.

New Moon prioritizes projects that:

- Are poised to catalyze positive change for people in the sex trade.
- Address basic needs and wellbeing for people in the sex trade.
- Are led by groups with a history of service to communities in the sex trade.
- Are led by groups with a history of thoughtfully navigating conflict.

New Moon is able to fund:
- Groups with 501(c)3 non-profit status, or 501(c)3 fiscal sponsorship. We require 501c3 verification via IRS 501(c)3 Designation Letter and/or Fiscal Sponsor reference.
- Organizations must be located in the U.S. or outlying territories OR have activities that take place primarily in the U.S.

New Moon is unable to fund:

- Individuals
- Groups outside the U.S. whose primary activities take place outside of the U.S.
- Groups without 501(c)3 non-profit status or 501(c)3 fiscal sponsorship
- Lobbying activities
- Illegal activities

The New Moon Fund staff and Advisory Board will review microgrant applications each month.

Please note: this is not a rapid response grant. Funds will be distributed approximately 20-30 days after Notice of Funding Award letter is sent.
