New Moon Network Partners with Giving List Women

Giving List Women has busted onto the scene as a powerful convener of philanthropic ideas centering the welfare of women and girls. We at New Moon are thrilled to join Giving List Women as champion partners, bringing vital information on issues of sex work and sex trafficking to their wide-reaching forum and publications.

We were honored to be included in the Giving List Women’s first publication, “Doing It Differently”, which features dozens of feminist organizations working to advance bodily autonomy, gender equality, and a vibrant planet. Our article Sex Workers & Survivors Working Together, written by veteran journalist May Jeong, describes New Moon’s mission to serve all people in the sex trade regardless of their experience or identity.

Giving List Women held its first summit in paradisiacal Montecito CA, and New Moon attended in full force! Savannah Sly spoke on a panel and emphasized the need for feminists to move beyond debating about the sex trade and find common ground. To uplift the importance of serving all people in the sex trade, New Moon invited Amy-Marie Merrell from The Cupcake Girls to speak on their work of serving sex workers and survivors of sex trafficking. Amy Marie articulated the deep importance of integrating sex workers as key stakeholders in fights against sex trafficking, and emphasized the need for rights-based approaches to service provision services such as case management, legal aid, therapy, and meeting basic needs.

Giving List Women is breaking new ground at an impressive scale and depth, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration into 2025 and beyond! Visit their website to request a free copy of their philanthropic guide.
